Simply didn’t work

The application hangs and didn’t work.

Excellent, just what I needed.

Have been using for a while and it works great in both my Macbook Air and Pro machines. Had no errors whatsoever! Great updates have comes in the last couple of versions.

crashes

the last version crashes after while and then begins uploading from the first picture once again, it worked well before, please fix it

Needed to fix a broken IPhoto lib before using. Works great.

If the program abends, it’s your IPhoto lib that’s damaged. 1. Quit IPhoto 2 Hold down command key and option key, start IPhoto. 3. Select rebuild the library option. Let it work. This ap works fine. It would be even better if you had a sync every x number of hours, days, week option. But I can write a script. Cheers! Larry

It does the job

I’d like to have a scheduling option as with my incredibly slow CenturyLink internet access, I’m constantly having to pause the app so that I can use the internet. It would be awesome if I could launch it, set it to start backing up at like 11:00PM and then stop at 7:00AM and then just let it go. Even so it’s a good app and like I said get’s the job done. I paid for the in app purchases for advanced settings and they’re worth it IMO. So far I’ve uploaded over 14,000 photo’s and video’s with nary a hiccup. If it get’s a scheduling feature it get’s 5 stars.

Does what it says

Does what is says, does it well, does it simply. I had a problem with photos arriving on Flickr with the wrong permissions. Contacted support, got a response right away, turned out to be operator error. Great app!

Getting better quickly

This developer cares about the app. This app is updates constantly and is becoming better all the time. Now I have peace of mind that my photos are all backed up. Great work.

not enough testing

This app is updated frequently, but I’m not sure the new versions are tested enough. Currently I’m getting two dialogs I need to click on that are full of unrendered HTML. They’re so big I can’t see the button (they don’t scroll). I also have an iPhoto library that works totally fine in iPhoto, but when this program scans it doesn’t work - it just asks me to find a library again. I converted it to Aperture and now it works - so the program isn’t doing what it says. Also be wary - even though this app costs money, there are two in-app-purchases you need to make in order to unlock its potential.

Too many issues

From worse to bad: - Re-uploads photos already uploaded (at least if you quit the app before it’s done uploading the entire library) resulting in duplicate photos and sets in Flickr (allow deletion setting is checked too) - Requires 2 extra in app purchases to get the full functionality - Asks to reauthorize Flickr everytime the app is launched - Does not remember the selected iPhoto library when relaunching - Prompts for new version available (2.9.4) at every launch while the app is already at version 2.9.5 from the App Store - Uploads only 1 photo at a time - Pauses several seconds between each photo upload - Progress bar behaves erratically by going forward and backward during uploads - App did crash once after pausing the transfer

Improvements Needed

It is an ok app, but it seems to reload a lot of content even after it has supposedly been loaded a number of times before. I finally got my large set of photos uploaded, and now I am trying with videos; but between a slow upload network speed (not a fault of the software) and videos needing to be reloaded up each time I start again (seems like that is the fault of the software), I have only gotten 120 short videos uploaded out of a 1000 from my iPhoto library. More work needed to improve uploads and not having to re-upload the file each time.

Does what it says but needs improvement

It is an OK app, and performs quite nicely once it starts running. The problem with big libraries is that it takes ages to compare library data to Flickr data, and it makes resuming upload a big pain in the neck. Also, when you pause upload and want to resume it, you will have to reselect the library, and the workflow seems a bit buggy - hopefully an update to the app would fix this issue.

Didn’t crash once!

I have over 12,000 photos & this app did not crash once during the initial upload, that’s awesome! I was also able to change some of the files/albums around in iPhoto while the app was going & it didn’t even crash then. That’s great!

Very impressed!

This little app is a workhorse! I had over 28,000 photos to transfer to Flickr and although it took about 3 days for it to process everything, it never crashed once and it forced my computer not to go into sleep mode to get it all done. (one of the settings) When I first tried the app, I didnt realize that I had to find and choose the library that I wanted transferred over and didnt pick a library so I got an error message. I contacted customer support at 3am and surprisingly, they got right back to me to guide me through the process. I dont know if there were any dupes or omissions because of my enormous library, but so far it all looks good! I highly recommend this app!

App works . . . but

01/20/15: This app is backing up. But it is very slow and has crashed twice in the last two days. I have over 30,000 photos and in two days (Runing continuously) the app has backed up 6,500 photos. The upload speed is over 50 Mbps.

Fantastic

I needed an app to backup my photo collection and this one does it perfectly. I don’t need the sorting or editing things to be perfect, just the photos uploaded so I can retrieve them if I have a local crash.

Upgrade?

How about an upgrade so that it can work with Mac OS new Photos App?!?!

Works just fine but...

This app does everything it says it will. It functions just fine. However, I found out after I purchased it, that flickr now has an upload client that does everything this app does. And its free.

Fantastic for iPhoto!

I loved knowing that all my imported photos in iPhoto were automatically backed up to Flickr, so if I ever lost my laptop / backup drives, I’d be able to safely re-import my photos again. Unfortunately, as software advances, some things don’t keep up. I’ve upgraded to Yosemite (and soon El Capitan), and with that, iPhoto has been upgraded to Photos, and this app no longer works with the new Photos. I’m going to switch to Flickr’s native Mac uploader, but I doubt it will be able to detect the duplicates that I’ve already uploaded, which means I’ll need to upload all 60GB again. (Edit: actually no! Flickr’s native app did indeed detect all photos I have already uploaded with this app! Fantastic!) If you’re using iPhoto still, this program is fantastic!
